Truro Cathedral was taken over last Friday (9 October) by 400 scientists, politicians and Cornish residents, keen to have their say on international climate change talks and how Cornwall should be involved.

The speakers included Cornish Euro-MP Graham Watson, climate archaeologist Dr Stephen Harrison and climate campaigner Nancy Biscoe. They led debate about the up-coming Copenhagen Climate Change Conference in December.

Graham Watson commented;

"From what we saw and heard in the Cathedral on Friday night, the people of Cornwall have some strong views about climate change.

"Although the focus in December will be on the likes of Obama and Brown, it will be local communities who lead the fight against this challenge.

"Cornwall has the potential to become a "green economy". I will do everything I can to secure the money and support needed to make this change."
