South West and EU-wide wide Liberal Leader Graham Watson MEP this afternoon welcomed the result of the Liberal Democrat Party Presidential election, and congratulated his good friend who he supported on her campaign Ros Scott on her victory. Graham commented; "I backed Ros because I know she will make a first-class Party President. She has the right experience - at local, national and EU level - to give the right broad political perspective necessary to be President. Ros brings a fresh approach to the Presidency." "With next years European Elections soon upon us next year she brings a great range of skills to the role. The Liberal Democrats will benefit from her remarkable energy ability to mange and practical hands on approach, which is so popular with our Membership here in the South West." "Outgoing President Simon Hughes remains a tower of strength in the Party and I wish him well. His will be a hard act to follow."
