Graham Watson MEP again tops the poll

Commenting after count to establish the order of preference for Liberal Democrat candidates in the next European Parliamentary elections in 2009, current Lib Dem MEP for the South West and Gibraltar Graham Watson said:

"I am pleased that members have given me their support and I look forward to carrying forward the Party's standard into the next European election. I will do all I can to campaign vigorously and vocally to increase our Party's share of the vote."

Graham Watson was given 70% of 1st preference votes and now leads up the Party's list of candidates in the run up to the 2009 elections. Kay Barnard and Robin Teverson were elected in 2nd and 3rd places.
