Graham Watson, the Lib Dem MEP for the South West this week welcomed the announcement that £1.1million from the European Union Objective One programme and the SWRDA had been granted to television chef Jamie Oliver's 'Fifteen Cornwall'.

The restaurant will following the same format as that used the television series about Fifteen London, where professional chefs trained local disadvantaged youngsters.

Mr Watson said:

"I am delighted that EU money is being put to such good use. Fifteen Cornwall will not only benefit the youngsters involved in the project, but also raise Cornwall's profile, boost tourism and help regenerate the area. I will certainly be dining at Fifteen Cornwall to show my support for those involved after the restaurant opens in May."
