Graham Watson, Somerset's Lib Dem MEP visited Strode College in Street on Tuesday 8th February where he addressed the AS and A2 level Law and Politics students.

During the hour long session Graham talked to the students about his work as a Euro MP, the role of the European Parliament, including the function of the other EU institutions and the forthcoming referendum on the European Constitution.

Tessa Munt, the Lib Dem Parliamentary spokesman for the Wells constituency, and a regular visitor to Strode College accompanied Graham on his visit.

After the visit Graham said;

"I was very pleased to have the opportunity to speak to Strode College students this week, and I was particularly encouraged to note the level of political interest and knowledge amongst the students. They asked lots of thought provoking questions and clearly relished giving me a grilling!"

"I was glad to help inspire healthy political debate amongst the next generation who so often, sadly, feel disconnected from politics."
